FAQ

What is the difference between Laminato and Formica?

Two popular forms of interior doors surfacing, the main difference between Laminato and Formica is in their thickness. Laminato is very thin, while Formica is at least 2mm thick, making it sturdier and more durable in comparison. Formica is an industrial product of layers of paper and melamine resin, compressed at high temperature. Affording better durability, the Formica paneling is more expensive and is typically used in soundproof and waterproof doors.

What is Laminato Coating?

The Laminato is a thin lamination coating that comes in a variety of textures, colors and styles. A key advantage of this relatively simple paneling is its attractive cost. With the highly durable and easy to clean and maintain Laminato coating, you get a sturdy, long-living product.

Can the WPC door lines be installed for all doors?

Certainly. All of Hamadia’s interior doors can be installed with the WPC door lines, while still maintaining the style of the design requested.

Can the interior doors be colored?

All of our doors can be colored with any of the colors of the rainbow. This way, doors can be customized to fit the client’s specific desires. Curiosity with colors is the key to a sense of satisfaction around the home or office.

Does Hamadia Doors have a solution of acoustic insulation?

All of Hamadia’s doors can be ordered with a flaxboard filling. The combination of flax chips and wood in a unique structural pattern provides improved insulation from noise, while maintaining the door’s ideal weight.

In addition to the flaxboard filling, Hamadia recently introduced its newest innovation – Hamadia ACOUSTIC. This door is specifically designed to insulate noise from both inside the room and outside of it. Fit with a rubber sealant to even better insulate sound – it is the ultimate solution for those seeking some privacy.

Can the sliding door be supplied with aluminum rails?

In addition to the standard metal rails, the sliding door is available with aluminum rails. The aluminum is light, flexible and resistant to oxidization, thus ensuring no rust will develop on the rails, making for a safe and aesthetic solution.

Which standards do Hamadia Doors have?

Hamadia Doors is proud to be licensed by The Standard Institution of Israel. This licensing is also recognized by the international IQNet Association.

What guarantee do you offer?

All doors have a one year manufacturer guarantee, as long as they have been used in a reasonable manner and have not been altered outside of the Hamadia Doors factory.

Where is it best to install the Eurocassonetto sliding door?

Hamadia Doors’ sliding door is best installed in spaces where room is valuable, as the door does not take up space when opened. The sliding door is a perfect solution for small rooms such as bathrooms, cleaning closets and wardrobes.
In addition, the sliding door does not slam shut like standard wood doors, therefore, is it safer to use around children.

What are the advantages and disadvantages of a kiln painted door?

Like furniture and kitchen cabinets, a kiln painted door is a feast to the eye. These are elegant designed doors that can be ordered in all the shades in the Tambour color fan.

When engraved, these impressive high-end doors look like works of art. Kiln painting's main drawback is its fragility against beatings and other dry damages.

What should I know about interior doors' frames?

With the top and side beams, the frame is an integral part of the door itself. The frame provides wall support as well as a firm and aesthetic joining of the door wing to the side. The fittings are a complementary product designed to conceal any gaps in the joining seams. When an interior door is installed/replaced, the frame is installed/replaced as well. Round or angular, door frames come in several styles to suit any personal taste and every door design.

Is every interior door acoustic?

Not necessarily. To be considered acoustically insulated, an interior door must have certain filler in the door itself and in the gaps between the door, its frame and the floor. We at Hamadia Doors are proud of our Hamadia Acoustic brand (an internationally registered patent) – an acoustic door with an adjustable soundproof threshold and double rubber gaskets in the door and in the frame. The Hamadia Acoustic is a multi-layer product, providing noise buffering of up to 34 decibels (30% more than your average entrance door). Hamadia Doors also carries the Aquadoor-Silence brand, combining excellent acoustic insulation with protection against water and humidity. We believe that acoustic insulation in interior doors is a must, so all our interior doors are equipped with quality filling materials, way above the required standard.

Do acoustic doors look any different from regular doors?

On the outside, an acoustic door looks exactly like any other door, and like any other door, it too can be paneled or kiln painted. The difference is on the inside – in the inner layers of filler. However, unlike non-acoustic doors, you cannot have elements like inlayed windows in acoustic doors.

What is the thermal and acoustic significance of the filling material?

Upon purchasing an interior door, it is very important to inspect the filling materials. At the Hamadia Doors' showrooms, you can look at sliced sections of our doors, where you can check the materials and the density. You will enjoy better thermal and acoustic insulation when the right materials are densely packed.

Hamadia Doors is proud of its unique new product (and registered patent) of an interior acoustic door with 7 layers of filler, that provides top-of-the-line insulation. These doors – the Hamadia Acoustic – are equipped with double rubber gaskets in the frame and in the door, as well as an adjustable acoustic threshold. Another proud brand of ours is the Aquadoor-Silence, with 5 layers of filler and an adjustable acoustic threshold. As acoustic insulation is a high priority with us, all our interior doors are made with quality acoustic filing materials – higher than the applicable standard in the field.

What is a waterproof interior door and where should I install one?

A waterproof door comes with a unique polymeric alloy panel at its bottom, which prevents water and humidity from infiltrating. Because of their resistance to water, it is recommended to install these doors in any "wet room", such as bathrooms, toilets, laundry rooms, kitchens, etc.
These waterproof doors are a real upgrade in any room where the floor is washed with water.

What is a sliding door and what is important to know when installing them?

Unlike a standard hinged door that opens and shuts at an angle, the sliding door, true to its name, slides in and out of a pocket in the wall or along a rail installed on the wall. For the first, a designated pocket is fashioned in the wall to suit the door and its specification. This type can only be installed on drywall. Doors that slide along a rail can also be installed on standard concrete walls. The sliding door's main attraction and advantage lie in its substantial space saving factor. Sliding doors can be paneled with Formica, coated with Laminato and they can even be kiln painted.

When replacing an interior door, must I replace the frame as well?

Indeed, replacing an interior door means replacing its frame. Whether you are planning a full-scale renovation or the replacement of just one door, bear in mind that you will be required to get a new frame. Frames are an integral part of the whole door system, and some of them even serve specific functional purposes.

What is the difference between a flaxboard filled door and the Aqua Silence door?

The filling material effects the door's durability, acoustics, thermal insulation etc. Flaxboard filler is a sheet of dense wood fibers, with pipe like spaces between them. The difference between this quality filler and the materials used in our Aquadoor Silence and Hamadia Acoustic is manifested in the level of insulation. These two models are built with multi-layer (5-7 respectively) filler, assuring better acoustic insulation at all times.

Which models are better suited for an Aquadoor Silence interior door?

The Aquadoor Silence interior doors come in a variety of finishes. The outer layer is a 2mm Formica paneling, of which Hamadia Doors offers a rich catalogue of colors and shades; and you can choose to add a layer of kiln painted coating that comes in all the shades of the Tambour color fan. In short, you can design your Aquadoor Silent in a variety of styles including the latest and hottest trends.
